Each challenge is a multi-file repo with a failing test suite, plus citations to people describing similar interview problems at real companies.

Testimonials

The failing tests felt like a real repo, not a toy function. I spent the hour reading code instead of guessing at a prompt.

Mina Cho

I kept missing the bug in the helper two files over. Practicing that loop is what the onsite actually tested.

Jordan Hale

Mid-level engineer

Citations to how people describe the round made the problem feel less abstract. I knew what the interviewer was watching for.

Priya Raman

Senior engineer

Running the suite in the browser meant I could iterate without setting up a local checkout. That removed the stall at the start.

Evan Brooks

Intern

I used to freeze once the stack trace left the file I was editing. These packs force that jump, which is the hard part.

Sofia Alvarez

New grad

The bonus bugs are a good stretch after the required fix. I stopped when the required tests passed, then went back for the rest.

Chris Nguyen

Mid-level engineer

Switching the same bug between Python and TypeScript showed me the mistake was in the design, not the syntax.

Avery Lin

Senior engineer

I treated it like a work ticket: reproduce, narrow, patch, rerun. That is closer to my last onsite than any leetcode set.

Noah Patel

Mid-level engineer

Short sessions added up. After a week I was less afraid of a repo I had never seen.

FAQ

What is a debugging interview?+

A round built around a real-ish repo and a failing test suite. You read the spec, reproduce the bug, and fix product code, not write a single isolated function.

Which languages are supported?+

Python and TypeScript are live today. The first problems are a small Python package with pytest and a TypeScript checkout helper. More languages are planned.

Are tests executed for real?+

Yes. Run Tests executes in your browser: pytest via Pyodide for Python, and a TypeScript worker for JS/TS. Your edits are what the tests run against.

How do I subscribe, manage, or cancel?+

Pro is $15 a month or $96 a year. Subscribe from Pricing or Settings. Manage your card, switch plans, or cancel from Settings. Canceling keeps Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.

Can I use AI tools?+

You can, but the point of this practice is your own loop: read, reproduce, hypothesize, fix. Many real debugging rounds ask you to turn AI off.
